Re: Gameboy Mk3 - RPi3 + DPI screen + RTC diy [WIP]

the manufacturer suggests using this backlight driver: http://www.buydisplay.com/default/led-backlight-driver-ic-chip-pt4110-in-sot-89-5-package It is easily controlled via PWM. Thanks for the tip. This driver is nearly perfect. Can run on batteries directly (2,7 to 5,5V input) and needs only a few...

Re: Gameboy Mk3 - RPi3 + DPI screen + RTC diy [WIP]

Hi, good to hear, that you are making progress. Maybe you could post a schematic, when you are done? One additional hint: Kite uses the 320x240 dpi display for his boards too and he has his source-code available under: https://github.com/geebles/Super-AIO Interesting thing about his source code is ...

Re: Gameboy Mk3 - RPi3 + DPI screen + RTC diy [WIP]

... Anyone knows if there is a 'correft' way to wire a digital pot to a boost converter for the screen backlight? I assume you use the display "LQ035NC111"? According to the datasheet the backlight needs 18.6V - 21.0V and 20mA. In my opinion you need a constant current, not a constant voltage sourc...

Re: [tinkerBOY] Game Boy Three - RPi3 and DPI screen in 24-bit mode [WIP]

Updates on the back? Update: Im almost done putting all the parts for the rear case. Im using a rgb led for power on, charging, low batt alert. IMG_2494.JPG IMG_2495.JPG The Pro Micro has plenty of analog input pins and im using one for lighting an RGB led red when it's low battery. Good job! What ...

... - DPI 18bit (unless I figure out an alternative way to the graceful shutdown pin necessity) ... You can enable the UART over USB in the arduino (https://techoverflow.net/2015/04/22/using-arduino-leonardo-as-an-usbuart-adapter/). Then you connect your shutdown pin to the arduino. If the button i...

Re: Gameboy Mk3 - RPi3 + DPI screen + RTC diy [WIP]

Nope, so far there is only the idea. I use Kites SAIO (http://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=3295). His overlay osd is currently only a binary file. The I2c pins on the 32u4 can be used for the RTC and the epochtime can send one time via serial to the pi. Yes, that was the plan! I have ...

I like your decision to add a RTC. I am also thinking about putting an RTC in my GbPi3. I want to show the time next to the battery indicator in the overlay. An Idea is an alarm timer...
Do you have some nice overlay script in order to do that easily?
