Re: Whitch screen is easiest to use July 2017
The regulator is config based. ie resistors and capacitors connected decide the output voltage. I think it is "a5269". BTW your board has a single step regulator. The second one is a EEPROM and not a regulator. If you supply too much voltage to that you will damage it beyond repair. If you have a mu...

Re: Whitch screen is easiest to use July 2017
You connect 5v to 3.3v regulator's output and not input. that is going to AMT630. so you are sending 5v to AMT630. How are you not getting this.

Re: Whitch screen is easiest to use July 2017
What voltage are you supplying to the board. Take the board out and show me the underside of the PCB. If you are connecting 5v to regulator output why will it heat up. you have just bypassed it and current is not at all flowing through it. But your AMT630 is getting 5v instead of 3.3v and it is heat...

Re: Whitch screen is easiest to use July 2017
Yes, You saw my setup before. It doesnt get hot. You have to supply 3.3v either where the blue wire is or the yellow wire is (3rd pin on IC). Removing that IC is highly recommended.

Re: Whitch screen is easiest to use July 2017
@zeroboy The AMT630 chip is 3.3v and the IC in the board without controller buttons (Aliexpress) is 5v. So AMT630 will get a lot hot and might burnout. What i did was to get a 3.3v regulator from adafruit and use that. You can even use the 3.3v from the Pi you are using. My display uses AMT630 and t...

Re: help me with my screen for GBZ build
@rodocop Both micro usb sockets have power lines connected so you can use any of them to supply power. @king I checked some of your images and you have connected the red wire to 3.3v and not 5v. Please post recent pics with display board after you have soldered. I had the same screen and it worked n...

Re: Whitch screen is easiest to use July 2017
If you post the pics of the pcb we could help. Also if you have a multimeter post a pic with voltages on ICs and it would be lot easier to convert

Re: Help for screen to run on 5V
Ok so this is how you can convert it to your liking. You see the 12v diagram, in there you should search for 5v or 3.3v. We have a 3.34v on 3rd pin (output). We also have 3.3v on the rightmost pin of the 6pin connector at the top middle. If you turn the board you will see 3.3v there. You can solder ...
