Re: Testing a new 3.5” 640x480 IPS DPI LCD

I'm not really sure as I'm just learning about this initialization thing on this lcd but looking at the Hyperpixel, it looks like there's a program that runs once and writes codes to it via spi on the Raspberry Pi to initialize it. So if its just a one time write to initialize the lcd then it would ...

Re: Testing a new 3.5” 640x480 IPS DPI LCD

If it’s for Raspberry Pi then you can just initialize the lcd via spi like what the Pimoroni Hyperpixel is doing.

Re: Where the F#*k do i start?

Start with a Pi zero. Buy one and a cheap usb controller or a usb keyboard will do for now. Format your sdcard and install RetroPie. Now connect the Raspberry Pi to an hdmi tv or monitor. Configure your controller. Go to RetroPie settings, enable SSH and connect to your WiFi. Transfers roms from you...

Won't work for too long, the built in MCU that initializes the screen will be removed going on in the latest batches. An MCU will be needed to make it work if you get the newer ones.
Hi Helder! Any reason why the builtin MCU will be removed?

Re: GPIO Controls causing Pi to lock up

Another way to test is use a tactile switch on a button that makes the stutter issue. Just solder the other pin of the tactile switch to the GPIO that corresponds to the button and solder the other pin to any GND.

Re: GPIO Controls causing Pi to lock up

I have a few similar issues reported by users who bought my v2 and v1 controller boards but everything was solved by cleaning the contact pads and/or replacing the silicon. Read the replies at https://sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=6206. I have also investigated this before and can easily du...
