Re: best glue option for the LCD bracket

I have a tube of Household Goop that I use. It's a bit thick & unwieldy to dispense, so I usually spread it with a toothpick on the pieces I want to adhere.. http://eclecticproducts.com/products/amazing-goop-adhesives/amazing-goop-household.html EDIT: I believe that E-6000 is basically the same stuf...

Re: My New PCB Prototypes

So, I'm about to start soldering up my kit. One question: what's the best way to go about soldering the through-holes on the Pi Zero to the through-holes on the GPIO Assist? I get the impression that there's no header involved? Attaching a through-hole to a pad, I get. This: I feel like it's gonna b...

Re: My New PCB Prototypes

Thanks.. So if I understand correctly: If configured as Toggle=4, Shutdown=4 (plus slow the polling) - Slide power switch off: initiates safe shutdown - Slide power switch on: turns unit on - Quickly slide power switch off & back on: toggle battery monitor If configured as Toggle=27, Shutdown=4 - Sl...

Re: My New PCB Prototypes

btw - did you go for the spi screen, or are you going to do composite? I'm using one of the Gearbest composite screens (and I'm planning to do this brightness adjustment mod -- though I'll need to set it up with a different PWM). Having used both, I actually prefer the simplicity of the composites ...

Re: My New PCB Prototypes

Looks like my stuff from Dividion is showing up today, though I'm still waiting for the rest of the parts for my build to get here. That was quick! Question on how Safe Shutdown works for the Ultra... How does the power switch work? Does turning it off instantly cut the power to the unit, or does it...

Re: My New PCB Prototypes

Oh, hey.. one other question regarding the charging plug. I'm guessing it's a 3.5mm barrel plug like the original DMG had. I've read that the original DMG charger had the polarity reversed compared to most other chargers. Is that the case with this, or can I just use any old 3.5mm charger -- maybe s...

Re: My New PCB Prototypes

If you want to make some pinholes in the top (so you can see the LEDs) there's a top LED drill guide also. It's not necessary if you're using a clear case. Which shoulder buttons are you using? In the last couple of builds I used the following: screen bracket button hole drill guide shoulder button...

Re: My New PCB Prototypes

I just bought the Ultra kit. Which 3D printed parts should I get? My best guess is: screen bracket, rear button bracket, & hole drill guide. Anything else?

Re: My Safe Shutdown Solution - Pololu and Logic Chip

This is the one thing we're a bit short on in this community: standalone safe shutdown solutions for slide switches. Thanks for this!

I might need to give this a try when I eventually build another GBZ.
