Re: Beerman's GBZ

Be aware that the battery you've linked to is pretty long. It won't fit in the GB battery compartment. If you want it roughly positioned there it needs to navigate over the latch for the rear battery door as well.

Re: Custom/Aftermarket Build Guide Part 2

Good guide. Interesting to hear what you said about the cartridge reader. It's the main reason that I'm leaving that out of my build. It's a bit of a novelty and just adds failure points. It would have been nice to see the integration of a safe shutdown circuit such as Cambles. One thing that's diff...

Re: Momentary Buttons instead of PCB Buttons

I've used momentary for my rear buttons. Might seem thicker but you don't need a PCB or silicon pad, much neater and robust. However the feel of the buttons is acquired.

I nabbed a few samples from Apem so they're a bit overkill (IP rated mil-spec switches).

Re: What Gauge of wire is everyone using

I have mil spec wire to hand so I'm primarily using 24AWG, although I've gone 22AWG for power. Handy being an engineer at an electrical engineering company :)

Re: [Pre-Order] Safe Shutdown Switch (PowerBoost Version) - Closed

Received mine today, thanks. Very compact and the switch integrates nicely with the switch toggle and the case itself. I have a question. Looking at the AIO wiring diagram, how does the GBZ stay off when on battery power or plugged in? The PB distributes power to the relevant components, does it kn...

Re: [For Sale] GBZ All In One PCB (Pre Orders #3) Board version 2.0

Sorry in advance, inevitable stupid question for my first post :) Been lurking for a while and I'm almost ready to jump in myself! Does this new pre-order board include everything the previous AIO (that wermy is using in his latest guide) had plus some extras to do with the audio? I'm a little conf...

Re: All in One PCB Support Thread

My bad. I have now added it to cmdline.txt and removed from config.txt. If I have the USB in at boot time, it stalls on "A start job is running...", the USB is lighting up. I left for a good 5 minutes and it didn't go past this. Once I pull the USB memory stick is continues the boot. Plugging it in ...

Re: All in One PCB Support Thread

I'm having an issue with the USB Hub (I believe). I'm using factory USB cable over a short length to a female USB Type A connector. I don't have a WiFi adaptor so I'm copying ROMs via USB. I've followed guides (FAT32 USB stick, folder called retropie) and nothing seems to happen when I plug it in. I...
