I'll give that a try, but I have a feeling it is something more serious. Especially since the screen works perfectly with a Pi 1. Photo attached.

I got my Pi zero in and immediately wanted to play. I soldered wires to the video out and ground to a composite plug, plug it into a car monitor (powered seperately), put in a correctly formatted micro sd card and power on!
