Re: Full VGA resolution (640x480) 3.5" display, composite in

Mad_Duke and dirtybeagles you only need display_rotate=2 if you mount your screen "upside down" (ribbon cable at the top). If you can mount it with the ribbon cable at the bottom then no need to rotate at all. :) Unfortunately no. If you do "display_rotate=2" t...

Re: Full VGA resolution (640x480) 3.5" display, composite in

However it's going to rotate the screen when you plug into HDMI as well, so you need to add an EDID section like this (i add all of this stuff at the end of config.txt to be safe) [EDID=*insert HDMI monitors EDID tag*] display_rotate=0 [all] You get the EDID tag by plugging into HDMI (so you can re...

Re: Vanilla Raspbian vs. RetroPi

I'm actually going the Attract-Mode way. It's going to be maintained. I have emulation station and attract-mode frontends plus Kodi so I can switch with only the buttons between movie watching, streaming and games. Will probably even Launch into Kodi later when everything is set and then Attract-Mod...

Re: Popcorn's GBZ

Hei man :)

Great job. Can't wait to see it finished (gracefully) :)

Where did you get that battery? I'm thinking for my second (Intel Compute SticK) build to change places between the now Pi and battery so I'll need something fatter, but not so long (as my current 10.000 mAh one).

Re: Gauging Interest - Button PCB with fully integrated Teensy

Also interested. But... maybe if you could do it (just for the future proofing sake) with both L1 L2 and R1 R2.

Or at least some extra breakout (top?) to use for some extra buttons)

Anyway, just an idea.

Re: Collecting information on alternative displays - please contribute

Managed to bring my voltmeter to life for just a couple of minutes (some 10 bucks crap which was 10 years old). Anyhow. This screen http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/7683 ... 3223925357 To get 5V you just connect the 5V wire to:
https://drive.google.com/uc?export=download&id...

Re: power banks / power packs for battery power?

anyone mod one of the cheap $5 power banks to work with gbz? is it possible? i have one, and tempted to take a chance with it I'm doing mine with a 10.000 mAh battery. But, try and find something at least brand name or known. For $5 you can't find a decent 18650 battery let alone the whole circuit ...

Re: how hot are you screen display drivers getting?

If the board is getting hot, that may be too much. Were it me, I would get a rig where I could step up the current from 5V slowly until I found a minimum voltage where it works without frying the board. It might be something like 6.5V or 9V. 12V may work, but it could be burning something out if it...
