Re: [Sold Out] Gameboy Zero PCB - Green for the UK/EU (Batch 6 shipped)

Just wanted to say thank you for the awesome control board! I actually got mine back in batch 4 or 5, but have just recently started to be a bit more active on the Sudomod boards, so wanted to pop by and say thanks :)

Re: Screen Surround/Bezel: What Do

Just try it out with a cheap one and remove it with nail polish remover or acetone if it does not look good. This destroys the case. Definitely not very recommended Wow, thank you for this! Was thinking of using this for removing the cartridge and serial number labels. Will have to find alternatives!

Re: Which LCD to get right now?

I'd say go for it! If you do have the same Variant 7 board as mine then whilst it works straight out of the box on 5v, it's lacking that little bit of juice to consistently produce a stable image. For me, adding the jumper wire found in the wiki totally removed the wariness. As long as you're sure i...

Re: My screen is barely readable

Can't help with the text size I'm afraid, however the screen phasing you mentioned can be fixed with a jumper wire:

Had the same issues myself (BW screen Variant 7, same as yours by the looks of it). You don't even need to remove any chips!

Re: Which LCD to get right now?

Would you say that the BW controller board was a decent size? The board's tiny! It probably takes up about 30% of the total area of the screen itself: 1469807028596-854797600.jpg Though it works on 5v straight out of the box, I added a bypass wire to eliminate some slight phasing. No chip removal n...

Re: Which LCD to get right now?

I personally went with the Amazon UK option. I saw that there were a few different 3.5" screens available, and decided on this one based on user reviews (a couple of which directly referred to the compatability with the GB0 project!), and also the position of the buttons on the back: BW 3.5 inch TFT...

Re: [Noob question] Which wires to use?

use the wire from a broken computer power supply. I actually had the exact same idea a couple of days ago, and gave an old 385w PSU a haircut. The wires do seem surprisingly stiff though. I'll give them a try for my power lines when I get to that stage of my build, but I'm not sure whether they may...

Re: BW Composit Screen Variant 7 - To Mod or Not To Mod?

Ok, so decided to take the plunge, and hooked up the divert wire without removing the chip, and it works! No more phasing, seems to be just fine!

Hopefully this will be helpful for someone else out there with a v7.

Re: [Noob question] Which wires to use?

This is my first time ever for doing something like this sorry for a dumb question Thank you for asking this! I too am pretty much a n00b at all this, but can't wait to get started on my own GB0! Cheers for the tips Helder. I think I'll get myself a bundle of jumper wires for the main bulk of the w...
