How bad was this flickering ? Some people talks about the screens do these things, but I have not seen examples on how it looked or how bad it is. For me it was like a phasing, an area of brighter pixels rolling up the screen, followed by a darker area. I can't really remember exactly how it looked...

If I provide power to a female USB port and connect the green and white wires to pads 22 and 23, will the USB port work even though pads 22 and 23 are also connected to a Teensy? Maybe try scratching the surface of where the pad was... if you scrap away that black film there should be a contact under there or at least the copper tracing. If you can clean it up and expose the copper you can just dab a tiny dab of solder to that and then solder a wire to that. Hope you get er...
