Another game boy zero style project up on kickstarter: The GameShell.
Looks a little less powerful than a Pi. And I'd take Kite's Circuit Sword over one of these any day.
However, they've got a pretty aggressive price point. And it's always nice to see appreciation of the classics

Re: [WIP] CAD designed and 3D printed GB Zero case
That's gorgeous!
I've been wavering back and forth between straight up 3d printing, or 3d printing with a laser cut faceplate. This is definitely inspiring me to keep it printed.

Re: Pi Zero Project (Non Gaming Related)
Adafruit has a reasonably priced TFT shield that fits on top of an Arduino.
Even if you don't buy their product, Adafruit usually publishes schematics, software libraries, tutorials and build logs. You can often get the components cheaper elsewhere and bodge up your own version.

Walnut / Carbon Fiber GBZ build (Not mine!)
Hey all, I saw this go by on Hackaday. I've been interested in building my own shell for Kite's Circuit Sword, so this caught my eye. Mine won't look nearly this nice. IMG_2858_corrected.jpg There's a complete build log too. I posted this here, because I wasn't sure if it counts as a GBZ if it's in ...

Re: RetroMayhem
I do like the large battery pack. I’ve been thinking about how to shoehorn 3x18650 into a 3D printed gameboy style case. I like the idea of a game system that’s also an all-day portable unix workstation :ugeek: It looks like you could build it as a single PCB, with the battery holder soldered to the...

Re: Composite vs DPI
I wonder if you could stash the zero and the dpi adapter in behind the screen. Then have a separate board in the bottom half of the SP for power and buttons. This would certainly leave more room for battery! Getting at the USB connector and SD card slot on the zero would be tricky. Or just run USB d...

Re: USB-controlled Spectral LED Matrix
You’re right, you might get away with two at a time. Depends on the power consumption of your LEDs. As for a PWM driver, it would (should) only cycle if the brightness of the driver is set to anything aside from full on. So you’d have your two target LEDs that you’d set to full power and everything ...

Re: USB-controlled Spectral LED Matrix
A couple of thoughts on this: I don’t think I’d try and build up a PCB that does USB from scratch. It sounds like building your project around an Arduino or Pi directly might be more practical at your skill level. And at mine, to be honest. Each type of LED is going to have a different voltage and c...
