You can extend the powerboost leds, require some soldering skills because the leds are very small. You can also use glass fiber strings, which pass on the light of the led.

To select something in that menu you must use the enter key on a keyboard. You can set the A key as ENTER by programming the teensy like that.

I can't remember for the Adafruit screen but I know that for my BW screen you only need yellow or white connected to the Pi not both (one is AV1 the other AV2 on the BW screen). Wiring seems to be properly connected. Check your ribbon cable, is it undamaged and al the way in the connector on the pcb?
