Re: [Guide] Graceful shutdown switch without Pololu

Are official Fairchild JFETs a problem then with the original schematic? I was reading the datasheet for their JFETs and it says the source and drain are interchangeable.

Re: Retr0bright solution for clear plastic on old console

Hey there! I'm also wanting to bleach the shit out of my DMG-Case :D So I found a quite cheap source of Peroxide https://www.cosmo-onlineshop.de/faerben/oxydanten/3059/profi-hair-line-creme-oxyd and they are selling these in 120ml bottles. So my question is, how much of this stuff do I need? Is one...

Re: [Guide] Graceful shutdown switch without Pololu

I've one more question. I ordered the jfet and resistors but the send the wrong resistor value. I have some 10k resistors, will that work or must it be 100k? I also have one 180k on the DMG board which I can reuse. I was planning to work on the GameBoy this weekend so I cant reorder and wait... If ...

Re: Razor's GBZ progress

How has that battery pack held up? I'm looking into doing the same thing for mine. same here, @razor any follow up retrospective ? also, the tabs on top of the batteries, what did you use to do them ? I already ordered the batteries without the tabs... and one thing, when soldering, isn't the heat ...

I'm actually away from my GBZ for a week. @razor has pictures of it in his build topic of you want to see it now. It just solders in parallel (positive to positive and negative to negative)

Re: Any advice for modifying screen?

Otherwise, helping hands and a smaller soldering iron tip would probably really help with precision.

Re: Any advice for modifying screen?

I have V7 of that screen and it doesn't look anything like that. That is V2. If you do have V7, it turns out it's identical to the EPathChina 3.5 Composite Display. I modified mine like in the directions and it works: [spoiler="modify to work with 5V"] http://s20.postimg.org/nxs4pycwt/desolder_IC.jp...

Re: Tackling Graceful Shutdowns on the GBZ

I'm waiting on my p channel JFETs to arrive. Were you able to get the n channel depletion MOSFET to work without one?

Re: Tackling Graceful Shutdowns on the GBZ

It would be this one: DN2530 At the terminals, gate-source voltage is 3.3V and the current is 40mA. I'm not sure if the positive voltage is an issue (I'm having difficulty imagining how to make it negative while still having the drain to source work). The drain is connected to the 5V source on the p...

Re: Tackling Graceful Shutdowns on the GBZ

@Camble I'm playing around with the depletion MOSFET and I'm having difficulty turning it off. The MOSFET connects to the powerboost on the drain and source side (source going to ground, drain going to enable). The gate goes to the raspberry pi on the TXD pin. Since I have the raspberry pi zero gett...
