OK, I could not wait, so I hacked together my own JST connector using some trimmed down female jumper cables
Yep, works just fine. Weird, but thanks !!

Re: Reboot Loop on Circuit Sword
Alright, I am missing a fitting JST connector to test another one of my batteries, so I guess I'll wait.
Still weird that it worked the first time. kite also describes the first boot in the wiki without the battery and that worked the first time.

[SOLVED] CSO - Reboot Loop at startup
So, I did build my second gbz today using kites new board. Took only about 2-3 hours, that is already amazing :) I tested it when I got it, it booted using my ~1.5A supply into retropie to the controller setup, I shut it down here. I completed the build and now it keeps restarting on me, just a few ...

Re: Did I break my stuff?
I tried finding a short on the display module, everything looks fine.
When I measure 12V to GND, no connection
GND to Pin 2,3 as well as AV1 and AV2 shows a connection
Is that correct ? This is while powered off

Did I break my stuff?
Hi there, I did my first GBZ a few months ago, it was a very fragile beast. I wrote about heat problems because of the way I positioned the Pi and everything was not very well thought out. I ended up never using it because of the display problems (heat spots that grew bigger). Shortly after that I o...

Re: ScummVM with arrow keys
Ok, I tried to expand the python code above an came up with this: http://codepad.org/gyYJh7KU You can map the pins for Left,Right,Up,Down,A,B,X,Y,L,R,Start,Select to the PI, then map the corresponding keys for keyboard, mouse and joystick mode. There is a extra pin to change the mode while running (...

Re: ScummVM with arrow keys
Ok, time to learn a bit of python on the weekend :) I found this: https://github.com/cpswan/Python/blob/master/rpi-gpio-jstk.py The idea: ScummVM can be started with --joystick parameter, so I guess that could work. For the missing keys I would map them to the other GPIOs (F5..). Or maybe the same a...

ScummVM with arrow keys
Hi :) I have installed pretty much every compatible rom and port by now and now got to the ScummVM games. I would love to play Monkey Island again on my gbz. Is it possible to emulate a mouse or configure ScummVM to move the mouse cursor, push mouse buttons with the keys? I use the keyboard simulato...

Re: Wii U Gamepad zero/gamepi project thread
Damn, that looks nice. I already started a "High end" build using a sega gamegear and a pi3, but this is somewhat demotivatingusername 123 wrote:The JXD S7800B killed this project for me. It looks just like the wii u handheld and does more.

Re: Display distortions, artifacts
Nobody?
I tried adding a fan in the meantime, cutting big openings on the side to let air through...that hat almost no effect.
the distortions get even worse when I play longer. After the pixel halos, about an hour in, vertical lines start to appear, I could't capture that on a photo.
