Boards came from Adafruit @ 1.95 each. I actually have 10 of these .50mm 10 pin connectors... 8 now. I want to keep 2 for spares (or for a second one if this comes out nice) but if you or anyone wants a couple, let me know and I can drop them in the mail.Racerboy wrote:Yeah, the Home button could be used for ESC, Power button could be used for a soft shutdown, and a power switch somewhere else could be used as a hard shutoff to cut the battery (EN pin on the powerboost). At least that's my plan anyway.
Looks good! Where did you get those boards?

Adafruit shipping is pretty expensive, even for tiny parts, so I might take you up on that offer.lotus1994 wrote:Boards came from Adafruit @ 1.95 each. I do not have extra adafruit boards, just the tiny connectors that get soldered onto them.
I just watched some surface mount solder videos and they make it look so easy! And they do these .5mm pitch boards by eye! I needed to use my magnifier just to get them lined up! I will give it a try by this weekend but why do I feel like I am going to have blobs all over the place, cursing these people from youtube as I do it?

These are great, could you please confirm that the 10 resistors in the bottom right corner are the following:lotus1994 wrote:...
So pictures are OK, as good as my phone seems to want to take, but if you need numbers or other pictures, let me know and I will break out the real camera (needs a charge, so cell pics is all I got for now).

So those connectors work great for both sides? I know the side with the D-Pad has a much larger ground pin than the other side, for some reason.lotus1994 wrote:Just can't leave well enough alone, I had to go play with all of my toys that came today for this project. I ended up soldering the connectors to the board, just to hold it in place, I did not solder each point yet. Had a migraine all day and trying to focus on such small stuff made me start to feel crappy again. And I need all of my faculties for soldering that small. I am not great at soldering and hope I can even do it! But I got them on the boards, trimmed the ears off the ribbons and test fit everything. Definitely no time tomorrow or Friday, but I should have some time over the long weekend to make some progress.

Not sure it's been posted before in the thread but here are pictures of the case and connectors and analog stick.

Thanks for posting this Helder!
It appears there's ample space for a full sized Pi3, a large battery and a cooling solution to boot.

I would assume it should be fine. It is just ground. It looks like 2 or 3 of them are ground on that side.Racerboy wrote: So those connectors work great for both sides? I know the side with the D-Pad has a much larger ground pin than the other side, for some reason.
Re: Wii U Gamepad zero/gamepi project thread
After you add the screen and control board, space goes away. I think a stripped down Pi 2/3 can fit though. I am looking at using a flat Li-On battery, see if that affords me some more space.chiz wrote:Thanks for posting this Helder!
