Hi guys, don't really know where to post this, so mods can direct me to the relevant page. Basically I am trying to learn EagleCad but it has been a struggle right from the beginning when I'm trying to add components.
When I click on add just a torrent of components is shown and I don't know which one is the one I need. Below is an image uploaded by VeteranGamer, I'd like to know what to call those circled in blue ?

and what kind of connections do you call "a" "b" and "c"?

If I know I can probably start to figure this out. Thanks.

Hi Geek,
glad to hear we're on the same project. :D I tried to accomplish the button pad thingy the other day but didn't find a solution... I found a tutorial on how to make these from scratch but it was for Proteus not Eagle, and transferring the knowledge without knowing your way around the softwared didn't work out.

From what I've read you have to add an extra tin/gold layer on the very top to get the contacts right...

So +1 interest in the solution from me ^^

It seems to be due to corrosion though...

ok.....

i'm not sure if you took note of when these posts were made, but things have moved a little on from 2006.....
if you get your pcb made on the very cheap, these might happen...

but i doubt you'll have issues with companies like...
