Retropie Handheld Project

Post by bl4ckb1rd » Fri May 11, 2018 10:06 am

I'm pretty new to making handhelds, and so far with my first handheld it is going great. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to hook up my audio jack to my pi zero w. Any help would be greatly appreciated, this is the audio jack I am usinghttps://www.adafruit.com/product/1699.

You might be able to use PWM audio.
These audio jacks usually work something like this: https://cdn.head-fi.org/a/19786.jpg
Basically, pipe your signal in one wire (one each for L and R) and GND in one, and then it outputs it to the jack if plugged in, if nothing's plugged in, it'll output the signal to the other leads instead.

A USB DAC that uses a PCM2704

Then you can wire it straight into the usb. Sound quality will be a lot better
