Thumbs Up ORB Gaming - Any mods for this guy?

Hi!

A friend gave me a "Thumbs Up ORB Gaming Retro Handheld Console" for my birthday with the premise that I should try and modify it to fit a Raspberry Pi Zero inside.
I tried searching in the forum before asking, but I was not able to find anything.

This is the device:

It's really tiny and it comes with 150 games installed that are REALLY bad. The good part is that it has an on/off switch, a volume button, a pad, A and B buttons and Select and Start buttons as well. It also has a speaker!

The LCD screen does look pretty good, but I'm not sure if I'd be able to repurpose it so I can connect it to the Raspberry. Even though it's tiny, I think I could cram an RPi Zero inside. If it does not fit, I could 3D print a bigger back side of the case.

Here you have some more pictures of it's guts:

The question is: has anyone tried and modified this device before?
I think it has a lot of potential. Specially for it's price.

I guess I could reuse the original PCB, but my biggest question mark is on the LCD display.

Any ideas?

You may even be able to print a "spacer" to go between the two halves of the shell. With some jumpers to the go on the pi, it might be minimal mods.

Yeah! That's why I think this could be an easy build. My only concern is the LCD. I don't know if it could work with the Pi.
