Attempt at a PCB design for a safe shutdown

Post by Spyder » Thu Oct 03, 2019 10:58 pm

I'm in the parts collecting phase of my Gaboze Pocaio project and I really want to have a safe shutdown to just flip the switch and it will power off. This will be played with by myself and my kids thats why I find it important. I know I could just do the ADS module with the single button (and I have a cool idea for that, but waiting on the ADS and momentary switch from AliExpress. I've been reading old threads about the polulu switch and am trying to figure out a way to add it into my system. I've been messing with Easy EDA and came up with this board that should fit inside of a cartridge with the polulu and ADS mounted on it. That way I can use SMT resistors and capacitors. I'm not an engineer by any stretch and am trying to just muddle my way through it. Is this completely stupid and wasting my time or am I at least off to a good start?
