I call it the Mintyboy

So the other day I was watching some videos on the MintyPi and was wondering if anyone has ever put a GBA SP in a Altoids tin. After doing some searching I had found nothing, so I’m now asking if anyone has ever done a project like this or if not, would anyone like to help me out in doing this project?

It’s kind of based on it, but instead of a raspberry pi, it’ll be an actual gba sp, using the cartridge slot, ports, and etc.

There is no physical way all of that would fit into an Altoids tin.

How so?

Have you seen the GBA SP PCB?

Sure it complicated but that doesn’t mean it can’t be done, I have seen this community done way more stuff that could fall under that category of “impossible”

It's not a matter of skill. You are missing my point here. You said take a GBA SP and put it in an Altoids tin. I'm assuming you meant the internal components. The PCB board and anything else inside. I'm telling you that the PCB of the GBA will not fit inside an Altoids tin. Otherwise I'm not sure what you are talking about because the only thing the MintyPi doesn't do that a GBA SP does is read cartridges. And to put in the cartridge reader is also impossible with the space left in a MintyPi. I've built many. Again it's not about skill, it's about physical size of components.

You'll have to sit down and calculate the level of functionality you want inside of the tin. You'll have to disassemble an SP and figure out how you're going to cram in the PCB, speaker, battery, game card reader slot, screen, buttons, etc. It's hard enough to get a custom made PCB in a mint tin with a battery let alone another full fledged console.

I'm not aware of anyone working on this project so you'd have to pioneer it alone. You'd have to start by depopulating the SP board, sanding off the soldering mask, and trying to figure out how to make a schematic.
