Yes, I probably will use what everybody is using here.

Has anybody done a read/write test for the 64GB eMMC and on a speedy SD card? Which is better? I cannot find any details on the 64GB eMMC storage...

Yes I don't want to risk and since everybodies are using these Pololu converted I decided to immediately buy one. The 5V6A one is out of production. 5V9A was too much and impossible to find here in Europe. 5V5A should be enough ;)

Also the stick should arrive tomorrow.

Depends on your exact build, I'm sure that m3 stick + 6.5" screen + sound amp + ?controller? (I'm not sure about this part) could draw probably 4A max., also consider that you might have to change the fan on the m3 or design a new heatsink. Like I said these run on 4.5W TDP but reach full potential on 7W TDP according to intel:
https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en ... 0-ghz.html

You still can push it a bit more depending on the temps, or at least I hope we can adjust the TDP settings in BIOS or vai Intels XTU and silicon lottery will determine how much mV we can undervolt so save some battery and create less heat.

I'm also watching some auctions for the m3 but they will getting out of hand..., maybe I just order one from the States without OS and without poweradapter.

I will only have display board (will use the sound board included the the lcd board) + 1arduino + Intel M3.
For the fan my idea is to design something the will orient the airflow to the two top holes while still using the og fan but I really need to open it before. I could oldo use some fine mesh and cut a really small hole on the back. I have several ideas.

Abou max TDP I really need to do some testing. My initial idea was to undervolt it just a bit but again want to run some tests.

Also: are you from europe too?

Yep, but not from Italy (I'm from HU) :-)

I was digging around the BIOS settings for these Sticks and as I see you cannot adjust the TDP settings directly there... :(

Intel's BIOS glossary:

Intel's design document:

There should be a "Power Mode" option with: low power / balanced / performance, but I did not find it in the screenshots. maybe it was a BIOS update.

I have opened a Ticket with Intel to clear this

I'm still hesitant to get one without 7W TDP it will not meet my requirements... I have opened a Ticket with Intel to clear this

Not just emulators, I have a lot of lower end requirement games on steam/gog, also I will build my own case/shell for it, it is just hard to find an active forum about this mods :)

I hope I'm not spamming useless info...

Dreamplans would be something like this:
Hardware: M3 stick, better heatsink, better fan, 5-6" display, very compact tablet form (+with joycon sliders)
Software side: win10 LTSB version, only manual updates, disable updates via GPO, disable virus protection (basically disable everything not needed), then use emus and mostly GOG offline. Set TDP+undervolt via XTU, I also had a script for this which would DO the settings for CPU & GPU but then disable XTU's taxing monitoring (just shuts down couple of services after TDP and -mV was set)

Personally I'm hesitating between an inexpensive M3 stick build and a very expensive Lattepanda Alpha (would prefer the 7y30 version over the 8100y version, which is hard to find...).

I'm going to run low end PC games too and an M3 should be more than enough even without maximizing the TDP. It also depends on which title you want to run and at which res.
This is why I choose a low res screen AT065TN14.
