I have a pimoroni displayoton setup so that it extracts the emulator and game via runcommand (i.e. on game launch). It also displays system information stuff. It's on my github https://github.com/wstevens0n/RetroPie-Displayotron

The battery lasts about 8 hours with the sound blasting and it's great for playing games that require a keyboard/mouse especially Brutal Doom!

Where did you find the clear/translucent snes controllers?

kitsch-bent buttons and Retro-Link LED controller.
