Been a while since I posted anything on as i haven't build anything for a while

But recently I gotten rather heavily into custom casting things in expoxy, poly and silicone.. It's really enjoyable tbh

Making the molds is a big learning curve, better the mold, better the part. Ive done buttons for most gameboy variants, cart shells etc

I'm always up for a challenge so if anyone wants something let me know

everything is always for sale YaYa but made to order.... I dont do it as a business but once i have to mold i may as well make one when someone ask.

The carts mold was made for a friend of mine that sells pokemon rom hack for the original gameboy

tools needed are as basic as you want it really. You possibly have everything i use already. I have made the addition of a vacuum chamber to degas (remove the air) from the silicone and resins to make better molds and castings.

I was watching some videos on this the other day! It's a pretty kool process though. I guess once you have learned all the tricks for getting the bubbles out and such, it's an easy job

Really really interesting... it gives me plenty of ideas for some stuff i always wanted to do without knowing how to do.

It’s a long process but it’s doable. Just needs some experimentations .

I now double hat jellybelly for his cartridge because I realize that casting such a model isn’t an easy process

I've been watching you casting stuff on instagram and the results are super cool. I might have to hit you up for some specific bits once i have a plan in mind.

It is very much a learning curve. The molds I was making a first when I look back now are shockingly bad. But with every mold come an improvement

A vacuum chamber changed things alot. Only cost £200 but ment everything is air free so worth it really

You don't nees that however. If anyone want to try it out then I'm more than will to pass on some tips

Your parts is only as good as your mold, so you need a really good part to make it from and if it's a 2 part mold you need to think how yoy are pouring and venting the part. Pour into the bottom and vent out the top should hopefully mean no air pockets
