you just need to scuff the old paint, theres no need to remove it (anything around 400-600 grit will be ok).....

theres also no real need to remove the paint completely, as you might run into issues if you use a incompatible paint/primer....
just scuff all the exiting surface properly/well of the shell/case is fine (enough for the new paint/primer to adhere to)...

I been waiting for an update so long I created an account just to get some guidance for my very own project. Now I ask Will you be inclined to help a fellow newb out with his project that's similar to yours?
