Which emulator have you guys had the most success with?

Post by ktechelonbreak » Mon May 23, 2016 2:24 pm

So I've tested a few of the emulators and for the most part they are running fine. A few of the emulators seem to have random slow downs at certain points in the game however. Specifically SNES, the default PocketSNES emulator seems to have lots of issues. The other ones run fine but the sound quality is a bit off. Anyone know which one works best?

Hm, I actually haven't had any problems at all with SNES. I've played SNES, FBA, Genesis, GBA, NES, and some MAME. All have fun more or less perfectly.

Yep, SNES works great for me too. Although, I've only tested about 15 of the thousands. Of the other emus that I have working well:

Atari 2600
Atari 7800
Atari Lynx (a couple roms dont work but overall its good)
NES
SNES
GB
GBC
GBA
MAME4ALL
WonderSwan
WonderSwan Color
Sega Genesis
Vectrix
And so far the 5 roms from my N64 thread ;)

I played a fair bit of Chrono Trigger and at times I get a weird slow down. The audio stutters a bit then goes back to normal. I'm wondering if it's just getting too hot. Haven't been able to reliably replicate it so far. I did some rewiring to give as much room for the Pi as possible, here's hoping no more trouble. Also since the Pi is directly under the Lipo charger I have, I put some electrical tape on top to reduce interferance.
