Thanks guys. Im trying it now.

UPDATE
Wow that literally cut the boot up time in half! Anything else that I can do to cut it more??

You can remove networking completely if you want, didn't save much time for me though. Other than that try these;

Code: Select all

systemd-analyze blame
systemd-analyze critical-chain
and see if you find something that could be omitted from the boot sequence (ctrl+c to get out of it).

Another simple way for speeding up boot by disabling Samba and network delay:

- quit Emulationstation to console

- run

Code: Select all

sudo /home/pi/RetroPie-Setup/retropie_setup.sh
- select "Configuration / tools" and then "Samba"
- first remove retropie shares and next remove samba service
- exit retropie setup script without reboot

- run

Code: Select all

sudo raspi-config
- select "wait for network at boot" then select "no"
- select "finish" and reboot system

This way worked for me without manualy editing any file or disabling services from console.

Cool tips here!

noticed mine takes a while to boot up... so i will be using this :D

if transfer via USB works, its ok for me :)
My first GBZ build -=HERE=- -> Became a gift to my little brother!
My 2nd GBZ build -=WIP HERE=- -> going with HDMI!
