I have been enjoying Retropie as much as the next guy here, but I decided to try using the scraper-- not sure where that term comes from-- that will download and add info on the games, like a box scan, description, publication info, etc. which is nice and can help you find a particular game and it better than a featureless list of names.
However, when doing this use the manual option. With a sizable library it can take several days even on automatic, but the thing is the scraper will mess up and load the wrong info for a game. Sometimes it's obvious, such as Mortal Kombats 1 -3 are all named Mortal Kombat 3, sometimes not. But this means going back and fixing all of it which is a total pain
This is probably obvious advice that has been said before, but it bears repeating.

Look up how to install and use selphs scraper. It's automatic, faster, not perfect but pretty accurate.
