Re: No Sound on Splash Screen - Kite's SAIO
With the latest image from Kite, audio was working out of the box for me, without any modifications to the system

Re: No Sound on Splash Screen - Kite's SAIO
I upgraded from retropie 4.2 to 4.3 just now, and lost audio playback on my Video Animation on Startup. I went and checked the location located in kite's post a few back, but it doesn't show I have the folder "asplashscreen" any more, so I have nothing to edit. Anyone have any idea what I should do? I already tried re-running the update script again and reupgrading and nothing. Thanks!

Re: No Sound on Splash Screen - Kite's SAIO
Whew!!!This solved my problem finally.kite wrote: ↑Fri Apr 14, 2017 2:17 amUPDATE!
The last comment on this thread said ALSA audio IS supported on omxplayer! https://github.com/popcornmix/omxplayer/issues/442
I have tested this with 'omxplayer -o alsa <video.mp4>' and audio works! We just need to find out where the call is made in a script somewhere and add '-o alsa' to the command and it'll work.
EDIT!
SOLUTION FOUND!
Edit '/etc/init.d/asplashscreen' and change the line:to:Code: Select all
omxplayer -o both -b --layer 10000 "$line"
(the change is 'both' to 'alsa')Code: Select all
omxplayer -o alsa -b --layer 10000 "$line"
And you have sound on splashscreen
I will be adding this by default to the NEXT pre-made image.. I'll update here with link when done.
