Non-OEM Audio Guide - No DMG Parts

I started to strip the USB audio board, and in the process, I've ripped off one of the pads, exposing the board below. Any idea where that trace is? I was thinking that tiny hole to the left, but I don't see any of the other pads with holes that close.

Get another board and start over?

I was trying to figure it out. I see schematics using it. Is it just ground?

From your photo it looks like maybe five pads have been ripped off the board not just one. But you may be in luck as the headphone jack side (bottom area in the photo) looks like you might have enough connections left to do mono sound. The one marked with the red square and the bottom left connections should be ground.

I wasn't too worried about the Mic side. I did that as a test, and ripped those off first. Being even more careful, I still ripped some off from the output side. I just follow what other people show, and don't understand what parts are. Everyone was using that one spot where I don't have a pad to put a wire to. But doing some research and figuring stuff out, I did see that the important parts are still there, and that I figured it was ground.

I am wondering if the amplifier is needed if go with the Sabrent USB Audio to push sound through a small speaker (ideally lower than 0.5W), or even to push sound just to headphones.

the sound was quite loud out of my USB soundcard without an AMP.

Has anyone got this working with Mame on Retropie I keep getting the Sementation fault Rate doesnt mate requested 44100Hz get 48000Hz that was from memory. Mame basically bombs back to rom select screen. Snes, Gameboy etc seem to work great.

Really dumb question: where does 5V and Ground from the amp go?

So my question, I see you use a different amp, will the AdaFruit one still work? Is it the same concept as the one you use? Already purchased the Adafruit one.

Being a total noob to GBZ builds, I was wondering about the same thing. @Pumpytums mentioned output from his soundcard was loud enough for use without an amp.

So my question is:
(a) is it necessary to wire up the Adafruit amp with the Sabrent USB sound card at all or is the output loud enough for mono speaker and headphone use?
(b) is the answer is no (not loud enough), how do I wire up the Adafruit amp?

So I've followed this tutorial and I can get sound out of the jack, but nothing comes through the speaker. I've double and tripple checked my wiring and its all good. Not sure what other info to give, but ask away if you need. Any help will be great! Thanks
