For everyone that wants to know how this whole thing works,
i created this diagram with the help of Felix, who provided pictures of his cut-open Audio Jack.

Here are a few Pinouts for the Headphone Jacks I encountered. Thanks to SidSilver & Camble for helping.

➡ BE AWARE: The Pinout for the Original DMG Audio Jack is only valid if desoldered from the board!

Thanks! How about a diagram for stereo sound with the headphone jack and a speaker? It seems like everyone has bridged to mono.

It makes no sense to wire Stereo if you only have a single speaker.
But I will write a guide on USB Audio with different setups.
Mono and Mono to Speaker but Stereo to Headphones.

I just want to finally finish my build this weekend, after that, i hope to have enough time for all the stuff that's fallen by the wayside.

Oh, I beg to differ Sir! As someone with a wife and kids, I can see myself benefiting immensely from a decent set of headphones! ;)

Very nice diagram @Fleder. Definitely worth the effort

Any chance you can add the physical dimensions of the casing for each?

Thanks :)
I'll do my best, but i do not own some of those, so i have to rely on users reporting their dimensions.

Thanks a lot fleder!

Two questions:

1. Does the gameboy jack diagram assume the pcb is still soldered? Since this would cause the two bottom pins to be connected at all times. Desoldering would mean all five pins are independent (i think).

2. When you say left out and right out, is this what would go to the single speaker to achieve a left + right "mix" in the speaker but independent channels when headphones are connected?

1. I am not sure about the soldered situation. I am talking about the jack itself, not soldered onto anything, in it's orignal form.

2. Output is the speaker, yes. Input comes from either your USB DAC or the Amplifier into the Jack, either into your Headphones or if not plugged in, into your Speaker. But i don't think wiring both channels to a single speaker would be wise.

Trying to get the speaker working with the original headphone jack. But there is no signal on both outputs. I measured the resistence on both outputs and there is no connection between input and output. Any advice?
