pi 3a+ power consumption?

Post by virtvic » Thu Dec 31, 2020 7:30 am

I was getting the low power icon with my pi3a+ joystick build.

I'm using a regular usb plug to the wall (like a phone charger thing) which goes to a panel mount plug and then into the micro usb of the pi.

I got a 2a plug and I'm still getting it. I have no other perihperals plugged into the pi's other usb port.

???

Just wanted some thoughts before I open it up and actually check the amps on some +5v & GND points on the pi with my multimeter.

2 A is enough for the Pi 3 A+. Mabye your cable is of poor quality and drops some voltage. Try another one ;)

I'll try another cable. The one I'm using was brand new from Amazon, but doesn't have an amperage rating on it...

Thanks!
