LED shutdown switch for Picade Pi3 mod

Has any one tried this illuminated LED shutdown switch from mausberry circuits?

I'm looking for a nice switch that I can add to a Pi3 picade mod. If anyone has tried this do you know if its possible to desolder the actual LED button and add a wire so it can be moved to another location (for example outside of my picade). I don't like the idea of having this switch so close to the USB power cable.
If not does anyone know of something similar that may serve the purpose that I'm describing.
