got my replacement shipping from gearbest last night and just got done testing them. I'm very happy to report that they work fine, look okay and handle 60Hz without problems. in fact 60Hz mode via composite looks worse on my tv than it does on the new screens. dunno if it was worth the wait but at least I can move on to other parts of the project now.

Yeah, GearBest has always been good about replacing defective merch for me. They're just...so...slow...
