Hi all,

I have been thinking of fitting an analogue stick to my Gameboy project. I really don't like the slide around type joysticks like on the standard PSP and was thinking of using a PS Vita joystick. I see the PS Vita joystick has a ribbon cable, has anyone tried to get into one to solder or have any ideas on how to hook it up to conventional wiring?

I'm gonna bump this old post because I just got a couple of these and was wondering if anyone knew the pinouts or could point me to a post that has the answer.

Just so it has an answer to the "how to" question, why not use a knife to separate the ribbon so soldering the ends is easier? Then wrap them in tape so they don't rip further

The one PICTURED is NOT possible to solder as it is like a graphite layer or something weird (I tried, it just melts!) you'll need a 6pin 0.5mm FPC connector.

If you get a REAL joystick you can solder to it: https://github.com/geebles/Super-AIO/tr ... ick_psvita
