10k vs 50k Ohm volume wheel

Post by Eccho » Thu Mar 02, 2017 9:49 am

Hi,

Just realized I bought a 50k Ohm volume wheel instead of 10k (https://www.amazon.de/5Pcs-B503-5-Pin-D ... r+16+x+2mm).

Does it make a big difference when I wire this to Helder's AIO v2.2 board?

Thanks everybody.

It should work, nonetheless it's factor is now 5 times more resistance, so you will achieve the complete volume up/down in 1/5th of a turn and the rest is overkill. with other words it's way too heavy. you should get a 10k one.

Good luck.
