USB-UPS

Post by moosepr » Wed Apr 12, 2017 12:24 pm

Slightly random question, but does anyone know of a device that can give like a 60 second power buffer for USB devices?

I have 2 TV's running pi's for media playing duties. The HDMI allows the control pass through, so when I ask the pi to shut down the TV goes off, the problem comes from me powering the pi from the USB port on the back of the TV. I am convinced the power is getting cut before the pi has totally shut down, but I have had no issues with corrupted cards yet.

I know I could use external power. But that's another cable to run :(

I have read a little bit about it for another project but I have no real world experience.
