Set of microchips

Hello 
I have some knowledge for soldering stuff... And since premade boards are very expensive and because i want to make other things I'm looking for something like a kit or a set with microchips like a 555 or 643 and MOSFETs ...
Does anyone of you know if something like that exists? Where can i buy it?
