USB Hub with Wifi from Adafruit

Post by SP33 » Sat Jun 04, 2016 8:03 pm

If anyone is looking for a usb hub to use with their pi zero, Adafruit just added a USB 2.0 WIFI HUB WITH 3 USB PORTS. I would assume it's tested to work with the raspberry pi since it states it's great for it in the description and a hub for $15 that includes wifi isn't bad. If anyone gets one and wants to do a teardown, feel free to post a few pictures!

Looks bulky D:

I don't know what to make of the dimensions; i know the board inside will be far smaller but the ports themselves being upwards rather than lying down doesn't sound like it would fit very well in the battery area.

Product Dimensions: 100.0mm x 25.1mm x 17.0mm / 3.9" x 1.0" x 0.7"

Yeah I figure you could desolder the female usb ports and directly solder your components or other ports directly to it. Someone would have to take a chance if they were to use it for the gameboy zero project or buy it for another purpose and see what it looks like inside.

The ports are a non-issue since anyone making this will remove them, looks promising
