Why should I use a PRS-Tech Board?

Hello dear community!
this is my first post in that forum, so be gentle if it is not the right place for it
I just ordered a Raspberry Pi Zero Kit (it is my first Pi), because I want to start yet another Snes Zero Project.
While looking around in the Internet I saw a bunch of tutorials that used the PRS-Tech Board.
What kind of advantage does that give me? As far as I understand it is not that hard to solder the cabels from the original SNES-Board to the GPIO-Pins, is that correct?
It would be nice if somebody could help me out with that one
Kind regards from Germany
