Re: TintyPi Custom Build [Nearly Done]
and just a slight tip....
i had a dead android tablet knocking around which i've been using over time for parts (battery, buttons, speaker and just general testing)
what it did have was a sort of grill it had over the speaker, so i've used it in the build (luckily just the right size)
worked out nicely....
but i'm sure you can find something similar on eBay or aliexpress.....

I think it's called speaker cloth on evil Bay. Or something like that maybe speaker mesh...

This is truly remarkable work. How much clearance do you have on the shut down on demand tac over the battery? Would you mind sharing the tac buttons you used?
You've really inspired me to think outside of the box on my next build. I'm going to research some of the things you did, like waterslide decals.

my system doesnt have a on/off switch like everyone else.... that tactile button is the on/off and safe shutdown all in one (power)
no switch
tactile button
it sits on top of the camera connector (which had to be trimmed/grinded a little for it to sit flush)
and is the same as the start and select tactiles
on/off and safe shutdown working
i know my start up is a little long... but Wermy img just didnt work for me...
powerboost/psu used
this is the script i used....
https://pie.8bitjunkie.net/retropie-shu ... e-easy-way
now i am aware with this method there is a posibily of battery discharge (which happens anyway)....
but i tested it for over a week and the system turn on and off without any issues of the battery being dead (and not charging it once)....
there is also another slight issue, when you go to charge the unit (cannot charge and play at the same time) it will turn on (turn it off and carrying on charging), but i can live with that.... the benefit out way this

Re: TintyPi Custom Build [Nearly Done]
using your always "on" method (in quotes because I know the Pi is off, but power is still applied) does it switch back on when the power is re-applied when you pull the charge cable out?VeteranGamer wrote: ↑Thu Aug 10, 2017 1:46 amthere is also another slight issue, when you go to charge the unit (cannot charge and play at the same time) it will turn on (turn it off and carrying on charging), but i can live with that.... the benefit out way this

the issue is only when the unit has been left for a bit (off) and you go to charge it....
when you plug in the charge cable the system powers on... i turn it off (via the shutdown button)
carry on charging, and when its charged , just unplug the cable....
but its not a major issue for me.... its a pitfall with a basic setup....
