My first project! Another new MintiPi!!

Post by MrErickson » Sun Jan 14, 2018 3:15 pm

It took a little longer to finish than I had originally thought, I suppose that's how things go right?

I will grab some of the other pictures I took when I can wrestle my wife's camera away from her but the PI lives and plays games.

After initial completion I found that the USB Sound pads were connected... so after cleaning that up she plays games with sounds like a champ. My only remaining issue to sort out is the Function Button doesn't seem to function.

My 3 boys while not old enough to be turned loose with a soldering iron were super excited to watch the project progress and my oldest has expressed interest in trying to build himself something.

A big Thank You to wermy, helder and origamiboy for the videos, boards and kit that let me take up yet another hobby. I am now looking forward to a Gameboy Zero build, a Gameboy Adavance build and if those go well maybe try laying out some PCB boards of my own for other options.

Thanks again!

Looks really clean, good work!

Make sure the Gpio to the left of CS is soldered. Wermy was incorrect on which gpio to use on his last update video.

Yeeeaaaah, sorry about that. I actually had someone mention the same thing yesterday. I updated the written guide image and added a comment to the video (youtube stupidly removed the ability to add annotations to videos).

Opened her back up and with a little dab of soldier the button came to life.

Thanks again!
