I,m planning to get a kit for my brother
and was wondering what systems it can emulate.
Answers are appreciated Thanks..
What systems can the mintypi emulate?
Re: What systems can the mintypi emulate?
It would be nice if Retropie included a compatibility listing, the way Lakka does. But alas...
This is the list of every system supported by Retropie: https://github.com/retropie/retropie-se ... ed-Systems
The Pi Zero can emulate most of these, up to and including the 16-bit systems (SNES, Genesis/Mega Drive). Anything later (32X, N64, PSX, NDS) is probably going to be beyond the Pi0's capabilities. I'm not sure how the Wonderswan or Neo Geo Pocket perform, but they may be okay. Arcade emulation will depend on the specific game, so MAME and Final Burn Alpha are kind of 'it depends'. And personal computer emulation won't work for games that require a keyboard or mouse, obviously, but most systems can be set to load on launch, so if all you need is a joystick, you're good. (although it's worth noting, computer emulation also emulates load times)
Or, basically this:
Amiga
Amstrad CPC
Apple II
Atari 2600
Atari 5200, 8-Bit Series
Atari 7800
Atari Lynx
Atari ST, STE, TT, Falcon
CoCo
Colecovision
Commodore 64, VIC-20, PET
Dragon 32
Famicom Disk System
FinalBurn Alpha
Game Boy
Game Boy Advance
Game Boy Color
Game Gear
Genesis / Mega Drive
Intellivision
Macintosh
MAME
Master System
MSX
Neo Geo
Nintendo Entertainment System
Oric/Atmos
PC Engine / TurboGrafx-16
PC-8800
ScummVM
Sega SG-1000
Sharp X68000
Super Nintendo Entertainment System
TI-99/4A
TRS-80
