There are many reasons why "minecraft pi edition" won't run on a minty pi.

1. The minty pi runs a software called: retropie which is different then raspian. Raspian is the software used for regular pi use. Retropie is used for emulating retro games.

2. Even if a third party source like the people who made retropie were able to get their hands on a minecraft pi edition rom and make it so it would be feasible using emulation station, it would not be able to run with the buttons on a minty pi.

3. If you want to play minecraft pi edition on the go, there are some cool laptops you can make from kits using the raspberry pi.

Good luck!

Edit: Not to mention, I'm pretty sure a raspberry pi zero can't run it.

It would be really weird to hold if you tried to fit a pi 3 in a bigger tin. Assuming you'd want to make it portable and all self-contained like the mintypi, you'd have to find a way to fit the power source, the pi, the screen, and the inputs within the case in a way that's functional and user-friendly. There's really no way you can get close to the mintypi "experience" with a full-sized pi.

That being said, plenty of people have made custom handheld consoles with full-sized pi's. They're bulky and awkward, sure, but they work. They look and feel more like a Nintendo Switch or a PSP. If you really wanted to do more with a pi 3, look at some of those projects for ideas!
