Mode button stuck
Mode button stuck
I'm putting together my mintypi v3, I have a problem where the mode button is always pushed. I checked with a multimeter and the leads are not connected. I checked all the other buttons and took the silicone pads off. I checked that there are no shorts on the joints between the pi and the aio board. I have tried 2 different sd cards and reflashed each one but still the mode button is stuck.

Re: Mode button stuck
I don't know a lot but you could try unsoldering it and then soldering it back in. You could also try and get a new button.

Re: Mode button stuck
Usually it means there is a bridge where the GPIO for the function button is, but could be a bad button which is not common but the soldering as the issue is.

Re: Mode button stuck
This is what my soldering looks like. I've checked the gpio pins and I don't have any shorts, and the mode button test pad is connected to the button. The leads on the button aren't shorted to each other, except when I push the button.

Re: Mode button stuck
The short could be between the board and pi, just because it looks decent means it is. Go over the Mode GPIO and the surrounding GPIO with some flux and solder braid to suck up some of the solder in the holes and it might clear it up.
