Not sure what is going on with mine. But it all together this morning and it was working fine, then left it on the side for 10 mins switch it on and now it is just white screen.

Charged it
5V is ok
3.3V is ok
Re wrote SD card
Changed SD card
Cont checks out from Pi to test pads
Cont checks out from test pad to screen ribbon header on the main board
Cont checks out from header to end of ribbon cable
Cont checks out to the lcd board test pads from main board.
Re done the tape on screen and re aligned several times all 4 LEDs light up but still no image.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Did you restart the PI when you made alignment changes? I have said this before that you will notice the screen working or not only on a reboot not while the system is on.

Don't contact me about obtaining my board files (as you will not get them). If my Boards or PCB Kits are sold out, they will be restocked as soon as I can get them and there is demand for them. You can join the mailing list on my Website to be notified when they are available.

Just having another play around and it's got to be the screen. I have soldered the pins of the header that the lcd plugs into directly to the screen and it powers the screen but there is no image. They where soldered the correct way round and I checked continuity for any bridges incase my soldering gave a false result. Would you consider replacing it @helder? I have another order from the last batch waiting to be shipped or if not can you link me on where to buy a replacement? This is the screen I told you about that had been damaged in transit I took your advice and put a dab of solder on the two pins that had got bent and that was fine. Like I say the screen did work for all of 15 minutes.

And yeah each time I made a change I power cycled.

Cheers

One more test I will do shortly is take the screen from my working one and test. Didn't really want to take it apart again but at least it will help work out the problem with this one

I can send you a replacement if you send it back to me. Be sure to email me or PM me all the details so I don't forget or get things confused with other people contacting me.

Thanks. I have just tried swapping screens over, taken the working one out and put the suspect one in place, that didn't work and now I have put the working screen back on that one is now just a white screen. No idea how because I didn't even touch the lcd ribbon just the white ribbon cable. So now I have two non working MintyPis any ideas?

I have also gone through your alignment tip as I'm now second guessing myself. But they are both aligned and still the working one has now got the white screen too. Left it for 2 mins to boot and gone through the menu to select a game as if the screen was working to see if I could hear the scroll noise and it isn't playing sounds.

Check to see if there is continuity for GND from the Pi to the LCD board which has test pads right above the 8 pin connector. If the screen isn't working now after a swap it's likely to do with the ribbon on either the 8 pin connector or the 18pin LCD connector.

When you get a screen working just use some clear tape to secure the LCD ribbon to the pcb so it doesn't move. From my experiences when inserting the 8pin connector while a LCD is plugged it, it can easily be shifted from the pressure of closing the 8pin connector drawer. Check alignment again as well as continuity from pcb to LCD pcb test pads.

Continuity from the Pi to the lcd all checks out on both boards. Taping ribbon down once aligned then re doing the 8 pin connector doesn't help. The one that was working I have taken about a dozen times and never had that issue with the 8 pin connector putting the lcd ribbon out of place. I have also noticed now taking the LCD out to realign that one also had damaged pins so again I have added a dab of solder and still nothing. I knew this would happen if I tempted fate taking my working one apart.

Redone the tape, realigned and the taped in place on both screens again.

Continuity from Pi to lcd board 100% fine.

Shipping back to you is going to be about £10 for that I can buy http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/172656446192

Will they work?

Thanks

That's a 2.8 screen not a 2.4 and it's attached to the pcb which will be hard to remove without damage to the ribbon and or LCD. The reason I wanted you to send them back is because I know I can get them working so resending more screens is a waste of good working LCDs since I know I can get those working.

If I send you 2 screens and I test them and they work you might have issues again because it all depends on the ribbon alignment. Send me back those 2 with the LCD boards and I'll send you 2 screens already attached to the LCD board ready to go.
