@helder or @wermy I need your help!

So I have all my pieces and parts for the MintyPi build. Sadly during my process I messed up my sound card. I decided to go all the way without it and add it on when I get another. But for some reason when I go to start a rom there is an error and the rom won't start.

I believe it has something to do with the software not recognizing there to be a sound card attached. Is there something in the software I can update to fix this until I get a new sound card? Thought I would ask you two since you both probably worked on the MintyPi image and how to setup the usb sound card.

Nope, it should start fine even without a sound card. What kind of ROM is it? Is it one that requires a bios, like GBA or PS1?

Sadly it's just an NES rom. I wish I could recreate the error message I get, but it goes so fast I can't read it or copy it.

Just let me know if you have any suggestions. I've tried Super Mario Bros 2 & 3 for the NES and it happens to both. I will try some other systems tonight.

You'll likely see an error on screen while it loads - it'll complain about there being no USB sound card. But it should still load the ROM.

Ok you were right. Very sorry for posting this now. I uploaded other roms for other systems and they work fine. Must have just been an error in uploading the roms I was trying in the first place. Thanks for your help thought Wermy!!

Glad you worked it out. Moving this to the software help section now since it's, well, software help.

or try different emulator (press key while rom starts up)
