soldering iron

Hi, im having some difficulty with the soldering iron that i currently have, Just wondering if you can send me a link to the one that you use. thanks.

I think pictures of your soldering iron could help. I'm sure everyone here uses different soldering irons, there isn't a standard as far as I'm aware of

For example I just use one I picked up at RadioShack, and I also have a butane one

Temperature controlled being my only real advice.

Get a cheap 898D+ for less than $50 on various online retailers. Wermy and I both use this model.

I have no idea if the actual soldering iron is any good (it probably is fine) because it's at my hackerspace where there are also a pair of weller and antex temp controlled irons, and as I now have small kids running around the house and no "shed"/workshop, just the kitchen table, I do all my soldering there.

(probably not the best examples price wise, they were just the first ones I found)
both of which are top notch stations but as you can see, a lot more expensive comparatively. however that 898D+ mentioned by helder looks like a bargain. see also Hakko soldering stations for good value
