Problems booting

Post by alech » Thu Feb 08, 2018 12:19 am

For whatever reason, every time I try to boot my minty pi I just get a white screen. The sound seems to work and I can boot from HDMI but the screen just stays white. I have checked all of my connections both to the PCB and the screen and everything seems to be good. I am not too sure where to go from here. Any help would be appreciated!

Plenty of 'white screen' support already here in this forum 😎👍🏻

Check your screen pads and reflow those GPIO. Also check the alignment of the ribbons.

And that you're using the mintyPi SD image.

Which mintypi version are you using, v1 or v2? Have you checked continuity on all of the screen tester pads and the gpio ports on the Pi?

I have checked for continuity both to the board and to the screen, everything is good. I have also reinstalled the image a few times, still no luck with getting past the white screen. To flash the image to the SD card I have tried using Rufus and Win32DiskImager. I have even tried multiple SD cards with no luck.

Check the LCD test points against GND with the continuity test, you might have a short.

Okay so with the display connected to the button PCB the GND and SCL are showing continuity, but when I disconnect the display this goes away. On the button PCB I am also showing continuity between the SCK and GND pads. Is this a problem/ any idea of what might be causing this?
