V3 20190501 Can't shutdown?

I flashed the new image that Wermy posted about on instagram, and everything seems to work except no Sudomod or Mintypie splash screens, and when I try to shutdown with the hall effect this is as far as it gets, and just stays on.

If I try with the "shutdown system" in the emulation station menu I get something similar or a black screen

Am I alone in this issue? if so, anybody who knows better have any ideas on what I can do to fix this?

The splash screens were removed from the image. That is expected behavior.

Are you plugged in to the Pi directly or using the power board?
If plugged in to the Pi directly, this is expected behavior. You are bypassing the mosfet which is the part that cuts the power. If you bypass it, it has no way to actually cut the power until you pull the power from the Pi.
If plugged in to the board, then yeah, something is off.

Exactly the same. And it stops the script at random spots but never completes and never kills power. And then the power button is finnicky. Sometimes it shuts it off the whole way and sometimes it reboots.

This is with a stock image? nothing new you might have added to it? for the Pi to shutdown the TX line needs to go to 0v once it runs through the shutdown process which then kills power using the Powerboard. If the usb cable is plugged into the Pi itself it will never shut off.

Try a different SD card to rule things out and maybe check voltage on the TX test pad once it gets to those screens, something in software might be hanging.

Hm, I never ran into this. Did you happen to have the FTP server running when it was trying to shut down?

I had to do this stuff when I flashed the new image. It wouldn't connect to FileZilla otherwise.

Ok, you may want to do a fresh image, and use this handy guide that liltrublmakr was nice enough to write up to connect with filezilla: http://www.sudomod.com/wiki/index.php/M ... rring_ROMs

I was having the shutdown problems before doing that anyway. And also on the first image. I talked to you already on Instagram about mine. Lots of derps with my first V3 build so I may not be the prime candidate for troubleshooting. I just figured I would throw my hat in the ring once I saw other people were having the same issues.
