Hello,

I went into the "show IP address" screen and then connected through WinSCP, then there was a circle with a j on the screen in the top right corner. Shortly after the system froze and I was able to shut off holding the power button down.

When i started it back up connected to usb cord on front it was fine.

What does that symbol mean?

Oh shit you found the secret icon for analog stick! It's useless on the mintyPi and is disabled by default.
