5V Test

Post by Childish88 » Sat Aug 17, 2019 10:09 am

How do you actually test the 5V going from the D1 to the two GPIO puns?
1. Do you use simply use the multimeter touching the D1 with one probe and the other probe on one of the pads on the far right?
2. Does it have to be powered by the raspberry pi?

Sorry for the silly question, very new to building electronics. ;)

You put the meter to continuity mode or diode mode the one that beeps when you touch the 2 probes together. Then touch the 5v GPIO on the raspberry pi with one probe and then touch D1 pad with the other probe.

The pi has to be soldered on the board to properly test things, if in doubt follow Wermy's build video.

Thanks for the reply, to test the voltage do you simple do the same but turn the dial to 20v?
